Believe it or not, this derelict building in Spinola Bay, St Julian’s, is still partially being used as a residence.

As the photograph shows, this corner building is being held together by means of a series of steel beams, struts, ties and pilasters but, mostly, I am sure, by the grace of God.

It has been in this state for many years and, amazingly, nobody has found any issue with leaving it as it is, maybe surmising that it will just collapse and the issue would be resolved.

Besides the clear and present danger to the occupants, it is obvious that should this building oblige, and come tumbling down, it could have very serious repercussions on the very busy promenade below.

This is primarily a safety issue and nobody should be forced to live in such danger. Furthermore, no public road should be exposed to the possibility of the property falling down.
