Hearts comfortably extended their unbeaten run to five games after goals in each half defeated St Mirren at Tynecastle.

Paulo Sergio’s side moved to within a point of third-placed Motherwell after strikes from Jamie Hamill and an own goal from Lee Mair.

Francisco Sandaza scored his sixth goal in four games as St Johnstone continued their impressive away record with victory against a disjointed Motherwell.

Sandaza wrapped up the win when he pounced on Stevie Hammell’s poor pass to put the Saints two ahead with 15 minutes left.
