I would like to direct the attention of the health and safety authorities to the colour photograph on the back page of The Times (November 15) and ask if they can spot anything amiss?

There, in full technicolour glory, is what is wrong with safety, with clear and unequivocal evidence provided by the poster boy scaffolders regarding the lack of appropriate gear and legally required personal protective equipment on work sites throughout Malta.

Sad to say though that these gross aberrations are not unique transgressions and, after a perusal of construction or building sites alone, even the most inexperienced or unqualified person can readily identify the immense paucity of compliance with health and safety measures required at law.

I trust the authorities will act accordingly.
