The last release from local metal act Norm Rejection, 2011’s Belligerent EP, arrived 11 years after their 0002 sophomore album. Admittedly, the long wait was largely due to a hiatus on the band’s part – and it was well worth it too, for the bonus content it featured.

Now, it seems Norm Rejection is making sure its next release won’t take as long to come out. In fact, the band is at present recording the songs that will feature on its third album, The Radical Underground. The drum tracks were recorded last week, while the vocal takes and other instruments are under way.

The Radical Underground is scheduled for release in 2014, when Norm Rejection will be celebrating its 20th anniversary.

The new album will feature eight new original tracks, namely The Just, Existentialiate, Jesus Meets Mao, Celebration of the Snake, Living Not Dead, Peltier, Tagħna Lkoll and Il-Vo(j)t.

The band’s next live performance will be at Notte Bianca on October 5.
