Sometimes it is more dangerous walking on pavements than on the roadway. I was walking down a poorly-lit street in Fgura when I nearly fell forward. My lack of balance was due to a change in the level of the pavement by the creation of a gradient to serve as an access to and from a house garage.

This is surely a bad design hazard. Pavements should be on a level plane throughout their whole length. In bad light a body’s motion becomes attuned to its own momentum and, therefore, finds difficulty coping with sudden changes of motion. That is exactly what happened when my leading leg protruded deeper than expected because of the gradient.

Whoever planned this type of design into pavement construction thought only of accommodating the motor car and none at all about the human body. Apparently, this god-on-wheels takes priority over humans.

This mechanical marvel possessing a strong integral body can well take a little bump or two on its dampers but it is not the same for flesh-and-bones humans.

Had I been injured, I can assure Fgura local council and anybody else responsible they would be hearing from my lawyers. It is about time architects or the government rethink their policy on pavement crossovers for cars.
