Are Transport Malta and others trying to cover their tracks now by stating that they are giving a harsh warning to Arriva regarding the poor performance of the public transport service (The Sunday Times, November 18)?

Who are the people responsible for changing the whole structure of our public transport and promising a first class service? Who said that the old bays at the Valletta bus terminus were obsolete, only for the buses to start using them again? Why have they only mentioned routes 40-70-73 and X1 as being problematic? What about the people who travel on route 54 and others? Don’t these people count when buses on these routes do not turn up or turn up very late?

What about the public having to stand in the open at the Valletta bus terminus come rain or shine waiting for a bus? Is this what modern Malta should look like? If our authorities really care about the Maltese public the harsh warning should be given to Transport Malta and the others responsible for this whole chaos.
