Time is a unique resource common to us all – constant, relentless and irreplaceable. It is not time itself that can be managed, rather the use of it. As individuals, how we use our time, whether wisely or wastefully, is our choice; as managers, however, our use of time will greatly influence and affect the way other people use theirs. The ability to control and use time effectively is perhaps the most important single management skill that you can acquire. Among the many changes that you can make to manage your time, there is one that is important and easily available, and that is getting up early in the morning. Give up watching TV late at night and go to sleep a little earlier than usual.

It will then be easier to wake up earlier. Time management is a huge part of managing yourself. If you cannot manage time and won’t manage your limited resources, how do you plan to achieve your goals? I find that learning to manage time helps to discipline yourself.

In modern times, each product, place or gadget has minute differences that make it very hard for you to choose. There are so many opportunities to choose from as to what to do with your time. By having a plan, you will be able to make intelligent choices. By becoming more conscious of the available time and the choices you’ve made so far, you focus more on your priorities rather than useless work.

Time management is indeed a gem. Once it becomes a habit, it will be more beneficial than time-consuming.
