HSBC Malta rewarded four of its employees with the Employee Excellence Awards 2011 during its annual ‘Let’s Lead’ staff conference themed “Transforming today for a stronger tomorrow”.

Nadia Pizzuto was presented with the Teamwork Award, Odette Gafà with the Customer Experience Award, Natalie Meilak with the Corporate Social Responsibility Award, and James Buttigieg with the Best-in-Class Award.

The bank’s new chief executive Mark Watkinson highlighted HSBC Malta’s achievements last year. He identified the challenges and key objectives for 2012, while outlining the need for ongoing change to remain profitable, efficient and customer-focused.

The bank’s heads of businesses Paul Steel, Michel Cordina, Chris Bond, outgoing chief technology and services officer Philip Farrugia, with head of HR Mark Sims, provided further insight into the 2011 performance and their respective business area objectives.

They also outlined plans for this year which aimed to maintain HSBC Malta’s consistent profitability.
