Justin Haber’s prospects of earning a move to a foreign team look bright as the Malta goalkeeper has been sounded out by a Greek club and another one in Portugal.

The 30-year-old is looking to join a new club after his contact with Hungarian side Ferencvaros ex-pired at the end of last season.

Sources told The Times that Haber is currently in Greece after Kerkya, a Super League club based on the island of Corfu, expressed an interest in his services.

It is understood that Kerkyra have already offered Haber a contract for next season but he is biding his time after being approached by a club in Portugal.

The idea of continuing his career in Portugal appeals to Haber who is due to fly to the Algarve later this week for discussions with the representatives of the club.

Haber wants to assess the proposals of his two suitors before making a decision on his future.

Daniel Bogdanovic has returned to England ahead of the start pre-season training with Sheffield United.

The Malta striker has another year left on his contract with Sheffield United but the latter’s relegation to League One last season has raised question marks about Bogdanovic’s future.

Although Bogdanovic is happy to stay with Sheffield United, a firm offer from a club in a higher division or from another European country could tempt the Blades to do business.

Meanwhile, Valletta have failed to agree terms with Miodrag Andjelkovic. The Citizens had been widely expected to sign the Serb striker but contract talks have stalled after the club requested more time to assess his qualities before offering him a deal. That was not the case with Ousseni Zongo who yesterday sealed his switch to the Citizens on a one-year contract with an option for another year.

Valletta, who have sold almost all their tickets for tomorrow’s Euro Cup opener against rivals Floriana at the Hibs Stadium, have already been hit by an injury setback as Brazilian defender Ramon is facing six weeks on the sidelines due to a groin problem.

Żejtun Corinthians, who will play in Division One next season, have named Joe Falzon as their new coach.

The Division Two champions confirmed Sean Abela as preisdent while Carmel Abela will hold the posts of secretary, public relations officer and club delegate.
