The Tommy Hilfiger three-day competition was played recently at the Marsa golf course. This was the fifth time that the tournament was backed by the same sponsors.

The format saw Day One play reserved for women and Day Two for men. The top 80 advanced to Day Three where the winner emerged on Stableford aggregate score over the two days.

The opening play produced excellent scores. Emmanuel Agius had a Stableford score of 41, Quint Van Beek 39 and Leann Balzan 38.

They were followed by a clutch of golfers with 36 or more.

So, Day Three arrived with over 20 likely contenders competing for the various prizes.

Paul Gray completed his second round with 42 points to seal first place on 78. Van Beek followed closely with a total score of 77.

The best woman golfer was Mia Allsopp with a total of 76. Felicity Dix, the current Lady Captain, was runner-up with 71.

Jonathan Shaw, Tommy Hilfiger (Malta) director, not only played in the competition but was also at hand to distribute trophies during the presentations ceremony.
