Anyone installing roof insulation or double glazing between now and the end of the year will be eligible for a grant of up to €152.50, as part of a government energy-saving scheme inaugurated yesterday by Resources Minister George Pullicino.

The scheme provides households with a 15.25 per cent grant for insulation on glazing costs of up to €1,000. Applicants can apply for the grant by downloading the required form at www.mra.org.mt.

Double glazing is estimated to save families anything up to 25 per cent on their heating bills. Adding a shading structure to the glass used can provide equivalent cooling savings during summer months.
