Although schools are on the brink of their Christmas holidays, Gozo’s School of Music has since September last, been deprived of two foreign teachers of violin who were assigned to it for a good number of years.

It is assumed that these teachers have been transferred to attend to other duties in Malta without first providing our island’s school with an automatic replacement.

Local students have consequently had to bear the brunt by losing all their violin lessons throughout this three-month term. It is indeed shameful that the respective authorities have so far turned a Nelson’s eye to this unjust position as well as to the various parents’ petitions addressed in this connection.

I augur that as from the start of the next scholastic term this unjust position is remedied to the satisfaction of one and all.

Gozitans deserve better treatment.
