Sliema and Cottonera citizens were obviously glad to learn that the government is actively considering the introduction of a regular sea shuttle service to Valletta from their areas.

In the past Gozitans enjoyed both the services of a hydrofoil to Pietà and that of a helicopter to the airport. Both were unfortunately abruptly stopped.

Meanwhile, over the past couple of decades Gozitans have lived instead under a dose of promises and studies concerning the introduction of a tunnel or bridge. Would it be amiss for the present administration to treat Gozo on the same lines as Sliema and Cottonera by introducing in the meantime a similar shuttle service between the two islands?

This would at least spare many commuters hundreds of hours spent uselessly during their archaic travelling from Victoria to Valletta.
