The Government has asked the executive chairman and CEO of ARMS Ltd, Wilfred J. Borg, to resign “with immediate effect”.

In a statement last night, the Government noted the company had been riddled with problems since its inception. It said the police were investigating cases of abuse that emerged over the past days.

A “serious shortcoming” was communicated to the Government yesterday. It said ARMS had passed incorrect information to the Social Services Department, which led to 3,119 out of 3,897 energy benefits being well below the amount due.
