Arriva service No. 122, which operates to and from St Luke’s Hospital is a complete farce. It has been subcontracted and is operated by a van. The timings on the bus stops and Arriva website are simply not being adhered to.

It is supposed to operate every 30 minutes but according to the contractor is supposed to operate every 60 minutes. The journey takes a total of three minutes but on one occasion I had to wait for more than two hours. Arriva blames the subcontractor who in turn says they operate as they should.

If a service cannot be provided, why do they schedule it? Route 125 to and from Mater Dei Hospital/University has been stopped. True it used to take longer than service 75 which used to operate to St Luke’s and Mater Dei but at least commuters could get there.

My daughter asked for the 125 service at Mater Dei and was informed that it had been discontinued, with the driver suggesting that she walked to St Luke’s. So much for better mannered bus drivers! Give me the old service, the old bus drivers, even the old buses any day because they provided a far better service.
