I would like to thank the young Scots (a married couple and the husband’s brother) who came to help me on the night of January 28 in Marsascala. There was a bad thunderstorm at the time, yet, they would not leave until I was in a taxi. They even offered to take me to their home and put me up for the night.

I was a bit distressed at the time and never got the chance to ask them their names. I would love to hear from them if only by e-mail. All my details are on my website –  www.podgeanddodge.co.uk.

They spoke to one of my sons in the UK for a long time on the phone to make sure he knew they were staying with me until I was settled in a taxi or went to their home.

I had blood coming out of my ears, which was of concern to them but I told them that my hearing aid had very likely been forced in when I was attacked, scratching the inner part of my ears.

People such as these prove there are still good souls in the world. They were soaking wet with the downpour but they would not leave me. I am sure they would have stayed with me all night had the taxi driver not arrived to take me to my Sliema hotel.
