The Archconfraternity of St Joseph of Rabat has decided that the amount of money the statue bearers fork out to buy flowers to brighten up the effigies will this year be donated to the Puttinu Cares Foundation.

During these last 45 years these statues have been decorated with floral arrangements that cost quite a lot of money.

The Archconfraternity’s aim has been to help those in need, an aim it has sustained since its foundation centuries ago.

The statues will be on display at the St Mary of Jesus Franciscan church in Rabat this week. Members of the public will be able to donate money to Puttinu Cares. Contributions will be accepted also by Charles Ciantar who is the person in charge from the Good Friday Commission and Joe Pearson, the treasurer of the Archconfraternity.

The money collected will be presented to the Puttinu Cares Foundation during a football marathon to be held on May 6-8.
