The matter of pipelines, fossil fuel storage depots, link-ups with the EU power grid, etc., I think is best left to the experts.
However, this has not stopped widespread public debate on a technical subject which undeniably carries great importance for each one of us.
What I find striking is the way public money, a considerable amount of it, is so generously awarded by a bankrupt public corporation to a public employee, after a few years of paid public service, as a golden handshake.
I served as a consultant surgeon in the Medical and Health Department for over 30 years and I honestly cannot recall the Chief Government Medical Officer telling me “goodbye and thank you” on that memorable retirement day. Never mind the precious handshake.
And this goes as general experience for my fellow consultants now retired.
