Delegates from 10 countries, members of the European Commonwealth Games Committee, will be in Malta this weekend for an important annual meeting, hosted by the Maltese Olympic Committee (MOC).

The assembly will be chaired by Chris Jenkins, regional vice president of the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF).

CGF president Louise Martin, along with Development Manager Ellen Barwise, will also be here and address the meeting which starts on Friday.

Among the main items on the meeting’s agenda will be the Commonwealth Games 2018 which are due to be stage in the Gold Coast, Australia.

Details on the Games will be provided by Mark Peter and Melissa Price, CEO and relations and operations manager, respectively, for Gold Coast 2018.

Other matters to be discussed will be the Commonwealth Youth Games in Bahamas 2017 and Belfast 2012, as well as the Commonwealth Day activities, bids for 2026 and the Development and UNICEF programmes within the CGF fold.

At the meeting, the MOC will be represented by president Julian Pace Bonello, Joe Cassar, the secretary general, and meeting coordinator William Beck.
