The Institute of Maltese Journalists is receiving nominations for the Gold Award 2012.

The award, sponsored by the Tumas Foundation for Education in Journalism, recognises a Maltese resident with a long career and vast experience in journalism and whose contribution goes beyond the requisites of normal professional practice. It could also go to an association, organisation, institution or a group that gave an outstanding contribution for the development of journalism.

Self-nominations are not accepted. The nominations must include all relevant details – details of the achievements over the years, letters of reference and biography – and the reason for the nomination.

The winner will be chosen by a panel of judges chaired by President Emeritus Eddie Fenech Adami.

Nominations can be sent to Joe Vella, Secretary, IĠM, Third Floor, 280, Republic Street, Valletta or 146/5 Howard Street, Sliema, by February 13.
