Borussia Moenchengladbach ensured just one point separates the top four teams in the German league after their impressive 3-0 win over Stuttgart yesterday.

Gladbach striker Mike Hanke scored the opening goal of the game with a superb header with half an hour played after converting a free-kick from rising Germany midfielder Marco Reus to put his side fourth in the table.

Reus slotted home his 12th league goal in 17 games with nine minutes left as Gladbach finished with a flurry and striker Igor de Camargo fired home just a minute later to seal the three points in a comprehensive victory.

Bayern Munich remain top of the league on goal difference after their home win against Wolfsburg on Saturday, but defending Bundesliga champions Borussia Dortmund and Schalke 04 are level on 40 points.

Earlier yesterday, German league bottom club Freiburg leaked three goals in the first 17 minutes and had a man sent off in a 3-1 defeat at Mainz as they dropped deeper into the relegation mire.
