I believe in Maltese rights. I pay my tax and national insurance. How many foreigners who have been in Malta for over five years have failed to register with the VAT or labour departments?

How many don’t even pay tax or NI? Last week I met a couple of migrants from Italy, who came to Malta with passports to seek work, simply because there is no work in Italy. Now we are getting it from both sides. Yet the government does nothing.

If someone has been in Malta for three months with no money and is not registered with the tax office then he is working illegally.

These people need to be deported or forced to pay their NI and tax because they are breaking the law.

Otherwise, it qualifies as unfair competition, which is regulated by EU law but does not seem to be implemented here. Yet, the government sits back and lets this happen.

The Maltese need to be given a fighting chance.
