Gas prices have dropped while the cost of unleaded petrol has increased by 1c.

Liquigas yesterday announced a reduction in gas prices with a 12kg cylinder costing €18.15 – down from €18.30 – and a 15kg cylinder selling at €22.70.

In the meantime, Enemalta said the price of unleaded petrol would go up by 1c per litre while gasoil for heating would increase by 2c.

Unleaded petrol sells at €1.48 a litre.

The price of diesel and kerosene will remain unchanged at €1.38 a litre. Gasoil for heating has increased to €1.07.

Enemalta said that according to European Commission data, petrol and diesel prices in Malta ranked 11th and 6th cheapest respectively within the EU.

Consumer petrol and diesel prices here were below the EU averages of €1.617 per litre and €1.486 per litre respectively, it noted.
