Rabat 2
White Hart 2

An intriguing match saw White Hart take a two-goal lead only for Rabat to level the score in the dying stages.

After exchanging penalty corners early on, Paul Torpiano shot White Hart into the lead on eight minutes, finishing off a flowing move.

After a period of play when marking was tight and midfielders dominated proceedings, White Hart had a shot deflected past the post.

They won two penalty corners in succession and on 25 minutes they went further ahead when Torpiano scored again as a result of another penalty corner action.

That stung Rabat into action and they reduced the arrears soon after.

From a penalty corner, their second of the match, Shawn Falzon scored with a powerful shot.

Rabat dominated the early part of the second half and had five penalty corners in favour by the 60th minute but failed to take advantage.

A minute later they were awarded a penalty stroke which produced a tremendous save by White Hart custodian Robert Vassallo Agius. He dived full-length to keep out Jason Azzopardi’s effort.

Both teams went close to scoring with the two keepers smothering one-on-one situations but on 67 minutes Rabat equalised through Michael Galea after a prolonged action inside the D.

Umpires: Raymond Micallef and Andre Ghio.
