Gaba Décor is hosting The Muse, an art exhibition of selected works by artists Yasmin Modi and Vency Mechev.

The launch, which was held on April 26 at Gaba in Iklin, hosted art collector Zdzislaw Bieganski, who announced his intention to exhibit his 2,000-piece collection of works by Picasso, Van Gogh and Michelangelo in Malta on a permanent basis.

Featuring an array of over 50 pieces, comprising paintings and sculptures, The Muse marks Gaba’s first steps in the arts scene, a natural extension for this young brand whose concept revolves around providing high quality, function-al and colourfully innovative tableware and household items.

Yasmin Modi’s art finds itsroots in India, defining the soulof a dreamer whose art is ex-pressed in colourful compositions.

Clothing, cuisine, intricate Indian architecture are fused in sensual curves and splashes of colour.

The diversity of Mechev’s pieces is driven by intuition, speed, spontaneity and subconscious balance.

His works have been exhibited in local and international exhibitions, and are also part of private and corporate collections all over Europe.

The event was sponsored by one of Gaba Décor’s leading brands, Carrol Boyes Functional Art, a South African company that specialises in creating limited edition hand-made tableware and ornaments. The other sponsors were Charles Grech and Carmelo Abela Marketing.

Gaba Décor is open all day between 9.30 a.m. and 7 p.m. on weekdays, and until 1 p.m. on Saturdays. For more information, visit www.gabadecor.com or call 2210 5210.
