The General Workers’ Union has written to the management of pharmaceutical company Arrow Pharm requesting union recognition.

In a statement yesterday, the GWU said that the majority of Arrow Pharm employees, which amounted to 250 in total, had joined the union.

However, Union Ħaddiema Magħqudin said it would continue representing Arrow Pharm employees because, so far, it had not received any official resignations.

The GWU said it sought recognition so it could start meetings on the future of the 100 employees set to be made redundant as the company planned to halve its packaging plant in Ħal Far.
