The GWU said it walked out of a meeting with Arriva yesterday when it realised why the company had wanted to meet “very urgently”.

The union said the company’s request followed a meeting the secretary of the section representing Arriva workers had with drivers. The GWU said Arriva insisted that they should meet because the matter was very urgent and could also affect the company’s future in Malta.

But it became clear during the meeting that Arriva’s aim was to find out what had been discussed between the section secretary and drivers.
