I enjoyed reading the interview with Auxiliary Bishop Charles Scicluna (The Sunday Times, October 14). He knows the history of the Church, is an intelligent man of the law and a disciplined administrator who has excellent contacts at the Holy See.
I believe Mgr Scicluna’s primary task is to repair the faults in our local Church and to help us with the long and difficult journey we all face.
At the moment he will be listening, consulting and communicating in a non-imposing fashion with people both inside and outside the Curia; indeed this is already a positive change. It looks like the time will come when Mgr. Scicluna will lead the local Church. I pray that the Church will learn from her past mistakes, as we are all supposed to do, and be a guiding light in our salvation through our Saviour Jesus Christ.
