This Friday will see a new monthly event by the name of Woodrock kick off its first edition at Shoosh (within the Buskett Roadhouse premises).
The first night will feature four local acts, handpicked from the Maltese music scene to represent different aspects of the rock spectrum. Ben Purplle and JeJe will open with a set of familiar acoustic numbers to warm up the crowd, with the rest of the line-up, namely Fuse Box, For Strings Inn and 50 Shades of Green, all plugged in with the volume cranked up to 11 for an electric night of live rock.
Fuse Box are relative newcomers to the scene, about to release their debut single Shallow Waters very shortly. For Strings Inn, on the other hand, have built up a steady following in recent years, thanks to their contemporary take of grunge-infused alternative rock. The band is currently working on its debut album.
Lastly, 50 Shades of Green’s pumped-up set of Green Day favourites will bring to a fitting end a night of revved-up punk pop revelry.
Doors open at 8.30pm and entrance costs €5. For more information, call 9942 1890 or look up Woodrock Malta on Facebook.
