A group of students from the Inseec Business School of Paris recently completed a four-week training course organised by  Odette Vella, Masters graduate from Essec Business School, Paris, and held at Smart City Malta.

The course aimed at providing the participants with the necessary knowledge to start up and manage a company or a project in Malta.

The students, who are studying for their Master’s degree and also work as apprentices in companies such as IBM Paris or SNCF – the French National Railway Corporation, chose their projects, which included the organisation of an event as well as the design, development and deployment of a website to support the same events.

The projects were evaluated by a judging panel made up of Maltese, Italian and French professionals.

Upon completion of the course, programme, Ms Vella said: “I am very satisfied with the final outcome of the projects; the students worked very hard and overcame the challenges of managing a project in a country different to theirs. This was the first time I organised this programme and it was a greatsuccess”.

The students were helped by Fabio Giangolini, who delivered a series of lectures focusing on the history and evolution of Maltese media, the planning and implementation of various advertising strategies, the use of mobile marketing, the integration of online and offline advertising campaigns and the management of PR in relation to a company’s corporate image.

Marketing managers and directors of Athenaeum Spa, Estetika and Focal Maritime Services also delivered presentations about their specific companies.

Major Ivan Consiglio from the Armed Forces of Malta also participated in the initiative.
