Grand Harbour was tinted with the Blue colours of Cospicua yesterday after completing a double at the Freedom Day Regatta. Cospicua dominated both Open and ‘B’ category races in a strong show of force by the Cottonera rowing outfit. In the Open competition, the Cospicua oarsmen finished on top of the standings with 88 points to retain the March 31 regatta title they had won last year. Birżebbuġa were a distant second on 36 and Marsamxett further back in third on 20 points. Cospicua won three of the five races in the category for youths to secure first place on 76 points. Birżebbuġa, the 2016 ‘B’ Shield winners, this time had to settle for second place on 46 points ahead of Senglea who only managed 32 points for third place.
