A course of 14 lectures entitled ‘Philosphy in Malta’ is due to be held every Friday from February 17 to June 1 between 2 and 3 p.m. It aims to familiarise students with the history of philosophy in Malta and with most of its major contemporary representatives and to give students some conceptual tools with which they can examine themselves, society and philosophical works.

At the end of the course, participants should have a fair idea of the standing of philosophyin Malta, its merits and limitations, and the contribution it can continue to give to the Maltese society.

The course lecturer is Mark Montebello. Lectures will be delivered in English at the University.

The course is free of charge and open to both University students and members of the public. The latter need to register at www.um.edu.mt/publiclecturesregistration.
