I would like to point out one small incorrect decision made by the government which would have made a huge difference. While everyone is complaining about power cuts, the government is blabbing away about EU targets to reduce the carbon footprint.
Had the government used the €80 million being spent on the City Gate project to provide free photovoltaic panels to households which can accommodate them, I calculate that the free electricity generated would be around 13 per cent of that currently being used by households. That would also help ease the load off Enemalta, while lowering the carbon footprint and generating free clean energy.
