For spring/summer, Fred Perry’s Authentic collection for women takes the brand’s traditional ‘tomboy’ aesthetic and reinvents it with contemporary fashion thinking. Prints and textural detailing are the big story.

The recurring theme for spring/summer is the polka dot. Printed polka dot dresses and shirts, cap-sleeved, slash-neck T-shirts, cardigans and sweaters and polka dot accessories, including clasps and polka dot tennis shoes, play a key role.

Next to the polka dot, tartan checks and Breton stripes add a fresh, graphic depth to the collection. The classic Fred Perry silhouettes have been revisited and updated with slimmer and edgier fits. The palette is sober with snow white, pavement grey and a carbon blue, while saturated bright colours pop through in laurel branding and linings as in a tartan-lined Harrington and a fiery red, slim-cropped chino.

A slim-fit fishtail parka in a carbon blue is given a modern and sporty twist with a contrasting yellow stitching and laurel branding.

The iconic twin-tipped shirt remains the cornerstone of the collection. Other modern must-haves of this season are the dungaree dress, the shower-proof summer mac, the baggy sweatshirt and the shirtdress.
