A man who used a woman’s chequebook to buy nearly €7,000 worth of tools was jailed for two years after admitting to the charges brought against him.

Jeffrey Cassar, 28, from Mosta, pleaded guilty to defrauding Mary Vella and Invicta Limited last April.

He also admitted to forging Ms Vella’s signature and official documents as well as relapsing and breaching a probation order.

Mr Cassar is in prison awaiting judgement on another case in which he admitted to defrauding two men of €3,000.
