Four people, including a woman, were being held by the police after they were allegedly found in possession of drugs in Marsa on Sunday.

Police said they swooped on three men – two Libyans, aged 32 and 33 and a Maltese man aged 30 from Marsa – moments before a drugs consignment was to change hands.

The drug, suspected to be heroin, was inside a bag allegedly belonging to one of the Libyans, the police said.

Investigations led to the arrest of a woman, 30, also of Marsa. They are expected to be arraigned in the coming days.
