October 3 – 4, The Single Market Forum, Krakow.

The Single Market Forum gives you the possibility to take part in a debate on the realities of the Single Market. This is an opportunity to be more involved in what happens at EU level.

The forum would gather market participants such as businesses, social partners, non-governmental organisations, public authorities at various levels of government and Parliaments. It will examine the state of the single market, the transposition and application of existing directives aimed at making the single market work in practice, and facilitates exchanges of best practice.

The SIMFO will formally open on October 3, with the presentation of some examples of real-life stories from citizens and businesses. These stories – winners of an EU-wide competition ‘Tell us your story’ – aim to highlight challenges faced by citizens and businesses in the European Union’s Single Market.  A series of workshops on key areas of the Single Market will follow. One of these workshops will be devoted to the posting of workers and fundamental social rights.

During the Tuesday morning session, participants will discuss the conclusions from the workshops and will agree on a “declaration” that would highlight areas to improve the functioning of the single market.
