Colleen Harris, the former press secretary to Princes Charles, William and Harry and official spokesperson at William and Kate’s royal wedding is one of the international PR gurus scheduled to address the Global PR Summit Malta.

This two-day conference, taking place from April 12-13 at the InterContinental Hotel, is considered the country’s most anticipated business, public relations and social media event.

The two-day public relations and social media extravaganza in Malta will include interactive presentations by some of the world’s leading PR and social media experts from Virgin, YouTube, Credit Suisse, Grayling, FleishmanHillard, TUI Group, Civil Aviation Authority and Unilever Hair Care. Princess Diana’s former chief of staff and the former VP communications at BP America during the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico are also scheduled to present.

Ms Harris held a senior communications position in the British prime minister’s office before being appointed press secretary to the Prince of Wales. She handled the media for Prince Charles during some of the most turbulent years and also media-managed the emergence of princes William and Harry into the public eye.

Her career included senior posts in the deputy prime minister’s office and the Cabinet office as well as in non-departmental public bodies. She has worked in Britain and abroad as a consultant with private companies, non-profit organisations and UN agencies, including the World Health Organisation.

“The Malta Summit will be providing an in-depth understanding of some of the most important issues in today’s PR world such as fake news, data leaks, crisis communications for the tourism industry, content public relations and influencer marketing,” said Kosta Petrov, event director and chief experience officer at P World, the organiser of the summit.

The first ever Global PR Summit was held in March 2011 and since then the event is being hosted annually in 22 different countries including Canada, the US, Norway, Iceland, Turkey and Egypt.

The event is being organised by P World with Malta’s marketing communications agency BPC as the event’s exclusive partner.
