A former Arriva bus driver has been jailed for three years after he was found guilty of defrauding the company of some €15,000 after allegedly pocketing money from ticket sales in February 2012.

Ronald Gerada, 36, of Xgħajra, was also found guilty of computer misuse when he used another driver’s password to attribute the sales to him, in order to cover his own involvement, the court heard.

Magistrate Anthony Vella jailed him after taking into consideration that he had relapsed and committed the crime during the operative period of a suspended jail term.
