You couldn’t forget Chiara even if you tried – her bubbly personality and incredible voice have left an indelible impression both in Malta and beyond these shores. But just to make sure of it, she has released a brand new single called Forget Forgetting Me.

A powerful, upbeat track brandishing all the trimmings that should earn it a place in both club DJ playlists and pop charts alike, the song is Chiara’s first release since signing up with a new international agent, Valgeir Magnusson, the manager of Icelandic record label Hands Up Music.

Forget Forgetting Me is the result of a five-way collaboration featuring two Swedish songwriters, two more from Iceland and Malta’s very own Gerard James Borg.

The result also marks a fresh start for the Maltese singer, as she moves on from her signature ballads and takes a bold step into dance/pop crossover territory.

“For a long time now I’ve wanted to work more on pop and dance music,” she said of her latest release. “I’ve been performing dance music for some time now and wanted to take it further towards pop.”

Chiara also feels she’s found the right genre to express herself, adding that she wants things to be fun and playful, but with a sharp message.

“Women should have their opinions and never let anyone tell them differently. I want to deliver messages like that, mixed with the things I’m interested in at any given moment.”

The song was premiered on TVM’s Ħadd Għalik a week ago and will now be published internationally through Hands Up Music.
