• The Association of Lyceum Past Students is leading a cultural tour of Rabat and Mdina on Saturday. • As part of the activities to celebrate Mqabba Our Lady of Lilies Musical Society’s centenary year, an event entitled ‘Charity Fun and Walk’ will take place next Sunday. A ‘fun run’ will set off from Mqabba main square at 8 a.m., ending at Dar tal-Providenza in Siġġiewi. People who do wish to run can take part in a walk starting from Siggiewi main square at 8.30 a.m. Participants must give a minimum €5 donation and the final sum, together with the money collected at the Centenary Memorial Match last July, will go to Dar tal-Providenza. • The next MIR prayer meeting will be held on September 20 from 7.30 to 10 p.m. at St Joseph parish church, Msida. This monthly meeting consists of the reciting of the rosary followed by Mass and adoration. Priests will be available to hear confessions. There will be a collection of foodstuffs to donate to Fondazzjoni Suret il-Bniedem, a Franciscan organisation that cares for the homeless. All are welcome to attend.

• Il-Majjistral Nature and History Park has joined the global ‘Clean Up the World’ initiative and will be holding a clean-up on September 24 in conjunction with That’s Rubbish and with the support of the Ministry for Resources and Rural Affairs. The clean –up will take place at Għajn Tuffieħa Barracks from 4 p.m. till sunset. Disposable bags and gloves will be provided. Volunteers should bring their own water, heavy duty gloves and disinfectant wipes/gel. Volunteers can go on a free guided walk in the park during autumn. • The Youth Section within the Our Lady of Lilies Musical Society of Mqabba is organising a one night five-a-side football tournament to take place on September 30 from 8.30 p.m. on the synthetic pitch adjacent the Mqabba Football Club in Triq il-Madonna tal-Gilju.

• Malta University Holding Company Ltd is organising a six-session training course entitled ‘Hidden aspects of caring in professional contexts’, starting on October 12 at the University Residence, Robert Mifsud Bonnici Street, Lija. The course co-ordinator and lecturer is Erika Ferrario from the University of Milano-Bicocca, Italy. The course aims to provide training in emotional intelligence skills relating to relationships among educators and children/young people. • The Pontifical Missions Office, located at 7 Merchants Street in Valletta, volunteers to help out during events organised to raise missionary awareness. Volunteers are required to help with: delivering materials to schools as from October; transport of equipment to or from event venues; managing food or other stalls at events; providing entertainment or animation for families and the setting up of event venues.

• A missiology course organised by the Pastoral Formation Institute in conjunction with the Pontifical Mission Societies and the Ċentru Animazzjoni Missjunarja will be held between November and May. The course is aimed to those who wish to know more about the missionoray activities of the Catholic Church, in particular those who intend to go on a missionary experience. • The Malta branch of the International Al Jolson Society will be holding its annual 'Al Jolson Malta Gathering' on October 16 at the Royal British Legion, 111 Melita Street, Valletta.
