Sistina Art opened in 1985 with the aim of providing a wide range of top-quality materials for artists, including students and young artists.

Having operated from a small shop on the Gżira seafront for almost three decades, Sistina Art has now relocated to 8, Amery Street, Sliema.

“The new outlet can be reached more easily. The shop is within walking distance for Sliema residents as well as for shoppers who visit this major shopping destination,” says Louise La Rosa, shop manager and director.

“Also, while parking in Gżira was becoming a serious problem, in Sliema, we have a garage opposite the shop which can be used by our customers.”

The new Sistina premises are supported by interconnected adjacent stores to provide what is probably the widest range of art materials in Malta.

“We will continue to provide artists with all their needs, especially those looking for specialised materials of the best quality imported from Germany, Italy and the UK. We stock paints, restoration materials and tools, oils, acrylics and watercolour brushes from basic ones to pure Kolinsky sable and media items.”

Sistina stocks all sizes of stretched canvas and canvas rolls in different textures and lining, which is sold by the metre. It also stocks 100 per cent cotton paper in different sizes of sheets, blocks and pads. All materials are made in Germany and Italy and imported directly by Sistina. Sistina also offers a wide range of materials to cater for gilders’ requirements and also articles used by restoration artists.
