Arsenal’s no.2 goalkeeper David Ospina is being linked with a move away from the London club in January following interest from La Liga outfit Getafe.

According to reports, Ospina, 27, already has his fate sealed with Tutto Mercato website saying it’s looking increasingly likely that the goalkeeper’s days at the Emirates are numbered.

Tutto Mercato said Getafe are favourites to land Ospina’s signature but Genoa and Palermo are also believed to be interested.

Vardy regrets stupid behaviour

Jamie Vardy will always regret using a racial slur during a casino bust-up.

The 28-year-old Leicester and England forward made headlines for all the wrong reasons in August, when footage emerged showing him racially abusing a fellow gambler.

Leicester handed Vardy a substantial fine and ordered diversity awareness training after an incident which has taken the gloss off the striker’s remarkable start to the season.

Vardy said: “It was very uncharacteristic of me and that is why I wanted to meet the chap himself.

“We sat down and had a chat and just said it was literally silly, stupid... that was it, it was done. I’ve learnt my lesson.”

Lafferty could go

Northern Ireland striker Kyle Lafferty admits he may have to leave Norwich in January.

Lafferty has been on fine form in his country’s successful Euro 2016 qualifying campaign, scoring seven times. But that has not resulted in opportunities with the Canaries.

Now, with the need to be match sharp for next summer’s Euro finals in France, Lafferty knows he needs to be playing.

“It’s frustrating. I’m doing the right things but you can only do so much,” he said.

“If you’re not getting a chance and you’re doing the maximum, then you have to ask yourself a question. If it is time to leave I’ll take the opportunity.”

Battling Blatter

Sepp Blatter will battle on despite his suspension as head of FIFA amid corruption investigations, he was quoted as saying by a Swiss newspaper.

“I am a fighter,” the Schweiz newspaper quoted him as saying.

“They can destroy me, but they cannot destroy my life’s work.”

Blatter, who has headed FIFA since 1998, was provisionally suspended from his duties as president for 90 days by the group’s ethics committee on Thursday.

He has denied wrongdoing and filed an appeal.

The paper cited him as saying the ethics committee had forbidden him to speak about FIFA.

While surprised by the ban, “I am doing well and I feel good,” he said from his office in Zurich.

De Vrij: no interest in Man. United

Il Messaggero reported that Holland defender Stefan de Vrij does not intend to leave Lazio and join Man. United.

“People often associate me with Manchester United because Louis van Gaal is there.

“All Dutch players seem to be linked with Man. United at the moment, but there was never anything in it,” De Vrij told Il Messaggero.

“We had a difficult start to the season, but we’re climbing back up the table.”

Lazio expect De Vrij to return to full training this week after being sidelined with injury since the first week of September.

Drogba’s Montreal on verge of play-offs

Didier Drogba scored a brilliant early goal with a 30-yard free-kick to give visiting Montreal Impact a 1-0 victory over Colorado Rapids.

The win keeps the Impact in the sixth and final play-off spot in the Eastern Conference.

The three points pushed Montreal’s season total to 45 points, four ahead of seventh-placed Orlando City. Both teams have two matches remaining in the Major League Soccer regular season.

The 37-year-old Drogba scored in the 15th minute after Colorado’s Dillon Powers was yellow carded for a foul on Impact midfielder Andres Romero, who was stretchered off with a right leg injury.

Mexico clinch CONCACAF Cup

Mexico won a pulsating CONCACAF Cup play-off match against the United States 3-2 in extra time at the Rose Bowl late Saturday to book their place in the next Confederations Cup.

It was their first victory against the US since they clinched the 2011 Gold Cup final played at the same venue, and earned them bragging rights in what has be-come an intense rivalry over the past two decades.

With a high-energy game tied 1-1 at full time, forward Oribe Peralta broke the deadlock in the 96th minute. Mexico appeared to have victory assured when leading 2-1 but they were stunned when forward Bobby Wood equalised for the US.

Aguilar scored the decisive goal in the 118th minute with a thunderous volley.
