Tottenham have announced they will meet with Kick It Out and the police next week to discuss the issue of anti-Semitism.

The Society of Black Lawyers (SBL) have criticised Tottenham for what they see as a lack of action against home fans using the words “Yid” or “Yiddo” in chants at White Hart Lane.

The SBL say the songs are anti-Semitic, but Tottenham, who have a strong Jewish following, insist their fans have used the controversial terms “as a defence mechanism in order to own the term and thereby deflect anti-Semitic abuse”.

The SBL say they will make a complaint to the police if the chanting does not stop by next Tuesday.

Wilshere – I’m not 100 per cent yet

Jack Wilshere admits he will need time to recapture his best form after making his England comeback in Wednesday’s friendly with Sweden in the Friends Arena.

The Arsenal midfielder put 17 months of frustration behind him after suffering a stress fracture of his ankle by playing the final half hour of England’s 4-2 defeat.

Wilshere said: “I don’t know how long it will be before I can say ‘I’m back.’ I’m not really sure. This is my first long-term injury.

“I don’t feel 100% yet and everyone can see that. I feel better and better as every game goes on. It’s great to be back... 17 months out is tough for anyone.”

GFH extend talks with Leeds United

GFH Capital have been granted an extension to the exclusivity period relating to their proposed takeover of Leeds United.

Talks between the Bahrain-based investment bank and Leeds chairman Ken Bates have been ongoing for weeks and the two parties now have additional time to finalise a deal.

In April last year Bates an-nounced he had bought a controlling 72.85 per cent stake of the club’s shares from a Geneva-based company, Forward Sports Fund.

Czech probe into match-fixing case

The Czech football federation (FACR) announced that a probe has been opened into allegations of match-fixing in the country’s top flight.

The probe follows claims made by referee Tomas Adamek that he was offered a 200,000-krona bribe (€7,800) to influence the result of a Czech first division match in favour of defending league champions Viktoria Pil-sen at FK Jablonec.

Viktoria Pilsen, who are competing in the Europa League, went on to win the tie 2-0.

“The evidence (of Adamek) only concerns one match but this affair is sure to be more wide reaching,” said Jiri Gonda, chairmain of the federation’s disciplinary committee.

Boris Vukcevic out of coma

Hoffenheim midfielder Boris Vukcevic , who sustained severe injuries in a car crash in September, has awoken from a coma after eight weeks, the Bundesliga club announced yesterday.

The 22-year-old diabetic, who crashed into a truck after his blood sugar apparently drop-ped, is conscious for several hours a day and can communicate with his family.

“We are extremely happy that Boris is continuously improving,” Hoffenheim manager An-dreas Mueller said.

“We are thinking of him every day and we, the players, his team-mates would like to visit him. But that is secondary. He now has to have the best conditions to recover.”

B. Munich post record turnover

Bayern Munich posted a record €332.2 million in turnover in their trophy-less 2011-12 season, the club announced.

“Bayern Munich has today an economic base the likes of which the club has not had in its 112-year history,” said Karl Hopfner, the finance official for the Bavarian giants.

The turnover exceeded by €20 million the previous record of 312 million from the 2009-10 season, when the club won a domestic league and cup double and also made an appearance in the Champions League final (which they lost to Jose Mourinho’s Inter).

It is the 20th successive year that Bayern has made a profit.

Beckham not going to Australia

David Beckham’s management team yesterday denied claims by Football Federation Australia (FFA) that the LA Galaxy midfielder is seeking to move to Australia’s A-League.

The FFA claimed Beckham, 37, had been in talks with Australian clubs over a loan spell but a representative for the former England captain said there was no truth in the reports.

“There is always enormous interest from football clubs across the world in signing David Beckham as a player,” the spokesman said.

“There are absolutely no plans to play in Australia. David is completely focused on the MLS (Major League Soccer) play-offs and winning another Cham-pionship with the Galaxy.”
