Liverpool striker Luis Suarez was involved in a fresh diving storm after Stoke manager Tony Pulis slammed his antics in Sunday’s 0-0 draw at Anfield.

Pulis was furious that Suarez appeared to dive when he was challenged by Stoke defender Marc Wilson.

“You’ve got Suarez falling over in the box in second half, which was disappointing,” Pulis said.

“I’ve been on about and banging the drum about people who fall over and in one incident in the second half, it’s embarrassing.

“The FA should be looking at this. Ban him three games and he will stop falling over.”

Paris SG were tired says Ancelotti

Paris St Germain boss Carlo Ancelotti felt his side’s midweek Champions League exertions contributed to a lack of intensity in Sunday’s 2-2 draw at Marseille.

PSG lost 1-0 at Porto on Wednesday night.

The Italian said: “We should have managed the game better after our second goal (which put them 2-1 up).

“We did not play a great match, but a good match. The result is not bad, but we did not put enough intensity into our performance. This can be explained by the recent series of matches and the trip to Porto.”

Cole charged over twitter comments

Ashley Cole was hit with a Football Association misconduct charge yesterday after the Chelsea star’s foul-mouthed Twitter rant at the English governing body.

Cole called the FA a “bunch of t....” after having his evidence questioned by the disciplinary commission conducting an investigation into claims that his Chelsea team-mate John Terry racially abused QPR defender Anton Ferdinand.

The England left-back later deleted the tweet but only after it was re-tweeted more than 19,000 times, and then made a full apology.

But that did not stop the FA taking action.

Green backing for McCoist

Rangers chief executive Charles Green has handed manager Ally McCoist his full backing following the shock defeat by Stirling last weekend.

Rangers suffered their first defeat in the Third Division with a 1-0 reverse at Forthbank on Saturday in their fourth away game without victory.

Green said: “There is no chance of Ally being sacked. Yes, Saturday’s defeat was an embarrassment. But no one more than Ally knows what happened at Stirling was unacceptable.

“We’ve got to get a lot of things sorted at the club and we’ve never said it was going to be easy.

“We are certainly not going to solve anything by dismissing the manager.”

Treat Carroll with care – Allardyce

West Ham manager Sam Allardyce will stress England manager Roy Hodgson must be careful with Andy Carroll ahead of the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

The striker, on loan at Upton Park from Liverpool, has only just returned to action after a month out with a hamstring problem, but was called up to the national squad for the ties against San Marino at Wembley on Friday night and then away to Poland today week.

“Andy is really lacking in match practice. What I will speak to Roy about is his fatigue level,” Allardyce said.

“Andy will be stiffer than everybody else after this because he hasn’t played a full 90 minutes in recent weeks, so he will take a bit more time to recover.”

Napoli’s Aronica attacks journalist

Salvatore Aronica could be in trouble after the Napoli defender attacked a journalist following his team’s win over Udinese on Sunday.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the two men clashed in the mixed zone following the Azzurri’s 2-1 win at the San Paolo.

Aronica is alleged to have verbally threatened local TV reporter Antonio Corrado with shouts of “I’ll kill you” with the report claiming that he then hit out at his victim.

The two men were separated by those present and Aronica did, after just a few minutes, apologise for his actions.

Kaladze becomes Georgia minister

Kakha Kaladze has enjoyed the peak of football success but his latest triumph in Georgia’s hard-fought elections may see him making his debut on unfamiliar ground as the country’s deputy prime minister.

Twice winner of the Champions League with Milan, Kaladze has been nominated as vice-premier and minister of regional development and infrastructure in the next government after the Georgian Dream coalition’s shock victory in last week’s parliamentary polls.

Kaladze quit football this year to campaign alongside Bidzina Ivanishvili, the billionaire tycoon who leads the coalition that has transformed the ex-Soviet state’s political landscape by defeating President Mikheil Saakashvili’s once dominant ruling party.
