Bolton have completed the signing of United States defender Tim Ream from the New York Red Bulls for an undisclosed fee.
The 24-year-old, who has penned a three-and-a-half-year deal, has long been linked with a move to the Trotters and spent a week training with the club last year.
Ream’s arrival, which is subject to international clearance and immigration formalities, comes just over a week after England international Gary Cahill sealed his move to Chelsea.
Bolton boss Owen Coyle said: “First and foremost we are absolutely delighted to secure Tim’s services. He is a US international, a player that year on year has progressed and got better, and he will continue to do that.”

Barcelona pair suffer injuries

Barcelona paid a price for qualification to the semi-finals of the King’s Cup after losing both Andres Iniesta and Alexis Sanchez during Wednesday’s 2-2 draw with Real Madrid.
Spain midfielder Iniesta limped off in the 29th minute and examinations revealed he had a torn muscle in his left leg.
After being diagnosed with a “rupture of the femur biceps”, Barca said on their website that Iniesta would be “out for around three weeks”.
Alexis was substituted 11 minutes from time with a shoulder injury and is expected to miss between one to two weeks.

Bilyaletdinov to join Spartak

Everton have agreed a fee to sell winger Diniyar Bilyaletdinov to Spartak Moscow, the Premier League club have announced.
The switch marks a return to his home country for the Russian 26-year-old, who moved to Goodison Park from Lokomotiv Moscow in August 2009.
He has made 77 appearances for the club since, scoring nine goals in the process, but has never fully settled and made a regular starting berth his own on Merseyside.
The Russia international has already agreed personal terms with Spartak and has travelled to undertake a medical.

Injury blow for Bendtner

Sunderland boss Martin O’Neill has confirmed striker Nicklas Bendtner’s facial injuries are worse than was first thought.
The Denmark international suffered a broken nose when he was caught in the face by Swansea defender Angel Rangel’s boot during Saturday’s 2-0 Premier League victory over the Welsh side.
However, O’Neill has revealed that the damage is more extensive and as a result, Bendtner is likely to miss several games, starting with Sunday’s FA Cup fourth round clash with neighbours Middlesbrough.

Lazio step up Krasic interest

Lazio have stepped up their bid to sign Juventus winger Milos Krasic on loan before the end of this month’s transfer window.
Krasic has found it difficult to command a regular place under Antonio Conte and Juventus may be prepared to offload the Serb.
The 27-year-old has been linked with several foreign clubs such as Tottenham, Chelsea and former team CSKA Moscow but Il Corriere dello Sport yesterday reported that Lazio are very keen on Krasic.
The Biancocelesti want to sign him on loan with an option to buy outright at the end of the campaign.
QPR conclude Onuoha deal
QPR have completed the signing of Manchester City defender Nedum Onuoha on a four-and-a-half-year deal.
The 25-year-old had been little more than a fringe player at City and now links up with former manager Mark

Hughes at Loftus Road.

Onuoha becomes the recently-appointed QPR manager’s second signing following the recent addition of Milan’s Taye Taiwo.
Hughes told the club’s website: “Nedum is a player I know very well. He did very well for me at Manchester City and played a number of games, probably more than under any other manager.”
Moyes: No time off for Olympians
Everton manager David Moyes will not give any of his players additional time off in the summer if they are selected for the Olympics.
“Quite a lot of our players have had letters of invitation (for the Olympics),” said Moyes. “Am I worried? I am because there’s a lot of them got all sorts of things going on over the summer.
“It’s a real difficult one. It would be hard to say to players not to but in the same breath, this (Everton) is their bread and butter and this is where they get paid.
“They do need holidays and they can’t then be asking for spare time off if that doesn’t fit in.
“If they say ‘I’m playing in the Olympics then I might need a week off to recover’, there can never be anything like that.”
