Tranmere have accepted an offer from Bayern Munich for Dale Jennings.

The 18-year-old striker, who only made his debut for Rovers at the start of last season, has been granted permission to discuss personal terms with the Bavarians.

“Bayern have made us a very good offer for Dale and we don’t want to stand in his way of making this incredible move,” said Tran-mere manager Les Parry.

“When a club with the size and history of Bayern come in for you it’s the opportunity of a lifetime and I wish Dale all the best should the transfer happen.”

Jennings made 32 appearances for the Rovers last season, scoring six goals.

Milan, Napoli start favourites – Lippi

Former Italy coach Marcello Lippi believes Milan and Napoli will fight it out for next season’s Serie A title.

Massimiliano Allegri guided the Rossoneri to last year’s crown, six points ahead of city rivals Inter with Napoli a further six points back in third. However, Inter have a new coach in Gian Piero Gasperini with former boss Leonardo set to become technical director at PSG.

And Lippi feels Milan and Napoli are best placed to challenge next season.

He said: “Milan and Napoli are favourites for next year’s title. Allegri and Mazzarri have the right experience and a solid group.”

‘Der Hammer’ keen on Villa return

Thomas Hitzlsperger wants to return to Aston Villa. Sources close to the player insist the Germany international is keen to go back to the club where his career blos-somed in the Premier League.

Hitzlsperger had indicated when he left Villa six years ago that he would “one day like to return to the club” and that remains the case now his spell at West Ham has ended.

A source close to Hitzlsperger said: “Thomas wants to go back to Villa. He enjoyed some great times there.”

Fulham, Blackburn and Stoke are also believed to be interested in signing the 29-year-old, who has won more than 50 full caps for his country.

Jarvis targets England recall

Winger Matt Jarvis has set his sights on earning an England recall after reporting back for pre-season training with Wolves.

Jarvis capped an excellent season by making his international debut against Ghana at Wembley in March. He then helped Wolves to secure their Premier League status before getting married during the summer break.

Jarvis said: “The England call-up was a huge boost for me. It was a life-long ambition but it has whetted my appetite for more of the same and hopefully I can get back in there during the coming season.”

Wolves flew out to Kildare in Ireland yesterday for a pre-season training camp.

Wigan seal deal for keeper Al Habsi

Wigan have completed the signing of goalkeeper Ali Al Habsi from Bolton on a four-year contract.

The Oman international spent last season on loan at the DW Stadium and was keen to return but the deal was held up because the two clubs could not come to an agreement on the fee.

However, the Latics are believed to have met Wanderers’ £4 million valuation and Al Habsi, Wigan’s player of the season, was able to make his move permanent.

The clubs agreed the undisclosed fee for the 29-year-old last week, and Al Habsi then underwent a medical on his return from holiday before penning his deal.

Al Habsi joined Bolton in 2006 but made just 10 league appearances for the Trotters.

Paraguay model vows nude stunt

Paraguayan fans will be keener than ever for their team to land the Copa America after model Larissa Riquelme promised to pose nude should they triumph.

The Paraguayans are in Group B with holders Brazil as well as Ecuador and Venezuela.

And the busty Riquelme gave them extra motivation after making her promise, similar to the one she also made during the last World Cup, earning her the sobriquet la ‘Novia del Mundial’ (World Cup girlfriend) in her homeland.

“If Paraguay win the Copa then I shall pose nude on the pitch,” she said.

Bologna eyeing defender Heinze

Bologna are about to launch an offer for Gabriel Heinze, the veteran Argentina defender who played for Marseille in Ligue 1 last season.

Bologna, however, are still struggling financially after a troubled year where the club ownership changed several times and the team docked points for irregularities.

According to reports, Bologna intend to make a surprise swoop for free agent Heinze who terminated his contract with Marseille this summer.

Heinze is an experienced player and also figured for big guns Manchester United and Real Madrid before his move to southern France.
