Art, fine wine, food, live acoustics and a dose of fire dancing promise to liven up the capital city this weekend as the seventh edition of the Strada Festival hits South and Strait streets.

This outdoor event, which kicked off last night and runs until tomorrow, is headlining a number of top artists, live bands and newcomers.

Tonight, there will be a live performance by Dizzy & The French Man (Keith from Chasing Pandora). It closes in style tomorrow with a favourite gig – Pete and Papps, who have a special surprise guest.

There will be live painting and sculpture-making featuring Martin Bezzina Wettinger.

The event is the brainchild of organisers Kris Fenech Soler, who runs Trabuxu Wine Bar in Strait Street, and Edward Schembri, with the intention of injecting some life into Valletta.
