World Consumer Rights Day, with the theme Our Money, Our Rights, will be marked on Thursday but activities in Malta will be held two days later in St George’s Square, Valletta.

The Consumer Affairs Authority will have a stand from where officials will hand out information on consumers’ rights and duties.

Activities will climax with the presentation of prizes to children who took part in a competition organised by the authority.

Consumers Minister Jason Azzopardi said yesterday children were tomorrow’s consumers, so it was important to educate and make them more aware of their rights.

The authority has extended its office opening hours and consumers can now visit the premises in Blata l-Bajda between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.
