A ‘Fly a Kite for Charity’ activity raised €5,355.88 for Id-Dar tal-Providenza. The sum was presented to Fr Martin Micallef, the home’s director, during a marathon organised during the first weekend of July.

The organising committee, made up of Raymond Schembri, Lawrence Collins, Josephine Zammit and Annetto Camilleri, all from Żurrieq, was instrumental in making the event a success.

The activity took place at Ġnien il-Ġibjun in Żurrieq and although the main attraction was the original Maltese kite, it also managed to unite the village together to contribute in some way or another to Id-Dar tal-Providenza.

The amount raised also included sale of kites, cakes, books and knitted objects.
